Myths about sun protection

You think that olive oil protects against ultraviolet rays? You think that UVA rays are not as dangerous as the UVB?You think that your auto bronze protects you from harmful rays of the sun? Such myths about sunscreen put your life in danger. A fault protection against UV rays can lead to skin cancer, and one of the most common and aggressive form of cancer is melanoma.

There is no 100% protection!

Until last year, the companies producing cosmetics for sun protection could pass names on labels such as "sunblock", "100% protection" or "total sun protection. These indications have been banned because studies have shown that no sunscreen product can provide full protection against UV rays.

UVA rays are not as dangerous as the UVB: false!

While UVB rays cause sunburn, UVA rays cause premature skin aging and the human immune system disorders. Both types of radiation increases the risk of skin cancer. "Sun protection factor" only refers to equal levels of sunburn (UVB radiation), but not to similar effects from UVA radiation.

Sunscreen products that provide protection only against UVB radiation may give a false sense of security because they let hazardous UVA radiation reach the skin.This industry is beginning to apply labels sign standardized UV, which indicates a minimum level of protection against UVA, which increases in parallel with an increasing sun protection factor.

Natural oils can help, but not alone!

Many women use olive oil or other natural oils for sunscreen when going to the beach. These oils are recommended only for those who have already tanned and very dark skin.

How to squeeze a pimple in 10 steps

2.Wash your face with warm water (not cold or hot) and with nonalergenic soap which has a close PH to the skin.

3.Take a needle and pass it through the flame of lighter or a match. Thus you will sterilize the needle.

4.Wait until the needle it’s cool, then abrade it with a clean cloth dipped in alcohol.

5.Abrade the pimple with alcohol or other astringent that is used for skin.

6.Position the needle parallel to the skin. Stick it in the top of the pimple and push it parallel to the skin,until it will exit on the other side. Raise the needle and top of the pimple will be removed.

7.If the pimple won’t be purulent then it means that it wasn’t the right time to squeeze it. Wait a half of day or a day to try again.

8.Using a floppy cleansing press down around the pimple. If you want to use only your fingers, wash your hands well and wipe them with alcohol. Do not try to squeeze the pimple between your fingers, as I said earlier the infection will extend down and things will be worse. Push gently until all the pus get out or you see blood begining to come out.

9.Remove the pus with a soft fabric soaked in alcohol or a mild astringent solution.

10. After two or three minutes, you can apply an anti-acneic solution or a non comedogenic cream with aloe vera.

Do not squeeze pimples if you have cystic acne.

First week: Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables should not be absent from our diet. Besides that are rich in vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants, their consumption helps protect against heart disease, cancer, diabetes or hypertension.

The first week refers to a total daily consumption of fruits and vegetables between 5 and 9. Vegetables can be cooked, but not in sauces or fried foods, but grilled, boiled or steamed.

Tip: Before going to shopping, make a list that contains five fruits and vegetables that you like. Add another two new products for you, which interest you.

Week Two: Eat whole grains

On this week, half of the daily rations of grain must be represented by whole grains (wild rice, brown rice, barley, maize - polenta - whole wheat or whole couscous).

Unrefined cereals are much better and healthier because they are not cleaned.

Researchers have shown that if you add a moderate amount of whole grains in your daily diet (cereal with fruit for breakfast, lunch and graham bread than rice for dinner) the risk of heart disease, digestive system, diabetes, and cancer will be reduced.

Week Three:Eat more dairy

A diet rich in calcium is extremely beneficial for your body because calcium helps bone development, blood clotting and muscle contraction. Also, calcium can be a powerful ally in the battle with weight. Studies have shown that if daily people aged between 19 and 50 consume 1000 milligrams of calcium,and those over 50 years 1200 milligrams, along with vitamin D (200 IU and 400 IU) ,it will decrease blood pressure and certain cancers can be prevented.

So eat daily for a week,three or four kinds of products that contain calcium:cheese, yogurt (do not eat yogurt with fruit because it contains more sugar), milk.

Week Four: Eat more protein

If in three weeks of diet you eat only fruits, vegetables, whole grains and dairy (all these products have a very large number of nutrients and calories),it’s protein turn now to help you’re diet.Consum lean meats daily which is rich in protein. You can choose to eat the entire serving once per day or, if you want, you can eat smaller portions at every meal.

It is important to divide the plate into four sections: three quarters should contain whole grains and vegetables and the other quarter should be represented by products rich in protein: fish, shrimp, chicken, beans, beef or pork (port to be as a pack of playing cards).

It is indicated not to fry the meat.You can cook it on the grill,steamed,or in foil.

Most times, high protein foods, contains nutrients such as Omega 3 (good fats found in fish oil, nuts or wild salmon). To add flavor on the vegetables salads, you can use nuts, pistachios, cashew or peanuts.
